I am not the world's greatest speller trouble is I usually spot other folks mistakes much easier than I see my own.
Why is that? I don't see my faults, but just let me walk through a shop or read a letter and poor spelling just jumps out at me.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Probably because we know what we meant to put so we see that instead. I do know what you mean though and one of my bugbears is apostrophes in the wrong places!
LOL! I used to be a proofreader, so yes, it drives me nuts.
Love the "Untie instead of Unite" in your blog title!!
haha. I can't read blogs that I don't see half of them make the mistake of using ALOT instead of a lot.
Would they write a little as ALITTLE?
Yes, on both counts: I am bugged by those mistakes, and I see others' much more easily than my own. I think "marigold jam" is exactly right about why that is so!
My hubby and I are always picking up mistakes in newspapers etc...I used to work at a newspaper company and so did my fair share of proof reading.
Yep, I have that problem. I don't mind seeing mistakes on people's blogs or personally produced work, but in a commercial professional environment, unforgiveable! Call me anal!

I do! I do! I want to correct them so bad!
It does drive me a little crazy. I wonder if these things are not being taught, or if they're just overlooked. Of course, I sometimes see mistakes on my own blog after I've posted! Ack!
oh yes! this made me laugh!
(and i just got this post in my feed today - better late than never...)
