New Life, New Love

I have fallen in love with someone new.
Dark hair, blue eyes.
She's gorgeous!

Makenzie, less than 2 hours old, wearing
traditional newborn hospital ensemble.

I am a grandmother.
I think I'm going to like this adventure.
I want to spend more time with her but I'm
smart enough to wait until I'm invited -
I believe her parents get to be Number One
in her life right now.  I keep reminding
my daughter "I'm here whenever you need me!"
I'm always looking forward to our next visit.
I've even contemplated moving to her side of town...

This was taken the night Makenzie was born, the first time
I got to hold her, and it was love at first sight.
(This watercolor picture was made possible by a handy
little iPhone app called Waterlogue,  I learned about
it from a post by Rosemary at Content in a Cottage.)

This could be the beginning
of a beautiful friendship.

Oh I am sure it will be the beginning of something really special. I think the relationship between a grandmother and a grand-daughter is very special if my daughter and my mother were anything to go by. Congratulations - grandma!

Congratulations! I love her name!
I am a while off from being a grand mother but I am already collecting story books so I can read my grandies stories.

I love her name too and she's beautiful.
Someone on one of the blogs mentioned a quote.
"Being a grandmother is one of the few things in the world that isn't overrated."
Congratulations.
Glad you like the Waterlogue App.

Congratulations on the new baby. Thank you for your kind words about the passing of my dear foster pup #12. When I read your message, I felt a bit homesick and I was wishing we lived closer so we could go to my fave quilt shop for some fabric therapy and then I could have some real Texas cooking...(The places I miss the most: Cabbage Rose Quilt Shop, Pulidos for lunch, Cracker Barrel for breakfast, Sonic for onion rings, Hobby Lobby for the coupons...*sigh* :) xx debbie
